Alimah S. Kamaluddin Ahmed

Alimah Sobia Ahmed was born and raised in the United States and received her BA in Sociology and Arabic and Islamic Civilization with double honors from the University of Chicago and Masters of Education from the University of Illinois. In 1999, she migrated to Lahore where she pursued an intensive full-time study of the classical disciplines of Islamic learning, known as Dars Nizami, for four years. In 2003, she was formally certified as an Alimah and was awarded the Alimiyyah degree, certifying her to teach the disciplines of Qur’an, Tafsir, Hadith, Arabic Grammar & Linguistics, Beliefs & Creed, and Islamic Law & Legal Theory (Fiqh & Usul).

For the past ten years, she has been tirelessly teaching classical Islamic learning and guiding women on the spiritual path to become closer to Allah. To date, she has taught over one thousand women live and online and has graduated over 50 women as alimahs. Her students have included college and university students, young professionals, mothers, and homemakers.

In 2005, she and her husband founded Zaynab Academy. In 2009, Zaynab Academy Online was founded becoming the first all-women’s online Islamic educational institute dedicated to classical Islamic learning and spirituality. To date, Zaynab Academy Online’s courses and programs have been attended by over one thousand students from over twenty countries across the world.

Ustadhah Umm e Adan Fatimah (Lahore)

S. Khalid was born and raised in Lahore and received her B.Sc. in Social Sciences with Honors from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). She began her pursuit of classical Islamic learning at Zaynab Academy studying Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under traditional scholars and graduated in 2014. Although a recent graduate of the Alimiyyah degree, Sundus has been in this field as a teacher since years and is one of our senior faculty at the academy.  Ustadhah specializes in the understanding of Islamic Scholarly Tradition and other academic debates in Islam, and delivers talks on purification of the heart and drawing closer to Allah (swt). Currently, Ustadhah is also heading TeenTalk girls Society and is administrator for CIL year 1 at Zaynab Academy.

Ustadhah Umm e Ibrahim (Lahore)

Umm e Ibrahim was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, and received her BA in Humanities from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2012. She began her pursuit of classical Islamic learning at Zaynab Academy in 2008 studying Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under traditional scholars for four years, completing the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and receiving the Alimiyyah degree. Since then, she has been involved in teaching and dawah activities in Lahore where she has taught Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and Arabic to university students and young professional women. She also delivers talks on purification of the heart and drawing closer to Allah (swt). For the past five years, Ustadhah has been guided by Shaykh Kamaluddin Ahmed on the path of Tazkiyyah (spiritual purification).

Ustadhah D.N. Khan (Lahore)

Alimah Dur-e-Nayyab was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. She received her Bsc Honors degree in Social Sciences from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and her MPhil in International Relations from Kinnaird College, Lahore. She began her pursuit of classical Islamic learning at Zaynab Academy studying Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under traditional scholars for four years, completing the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and receiving the Alimiyyah degree in 2012. Since then, she has been involved in teaching and da’wah activities in Lahore, where she has taught Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and Arabic to university students and young professional women. She also delivers talks on purification of the heart and drawing closer to Allah (swt).

For the past seven years, Alimah Dur-e-Nayyab has been guided by Shaykh Kamaluddin Ahmed on the path of tazkiyah (spiritual purification). She recently returned from UK where she spent five months teaching Zaynab Academy on-site and online programs, and now resides in Lahore, Pakistan. She is currently the Coordinator & Core Instructor for the Qur’an Program at Zaynab Academy.

Ustadhah Umm e Zawwar (Lahore)

Ustadhah Umm e Zawwar  was born and raised in Lahore where she began her journey as a university student at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. She graduated with a Bsc (Hon) in Economics in 2008 and went on to complete her Alimiyyah Degree from Zaynab Academy in 2011. This era of learning was not only limited to the theory of Tafseer, Hadith and Fiqh but with the special mercy of Allah swt also made inroads into the path of spiritual development. She has remained in the guidance of her Shaykh for seven years and continues to benefit from his teachings and counsel. Within the curriculum of Dars-e-Nizami, she has taught Quran, Hadith, Fiqh and Arabic Grammar to university students and working women. Ustadhah has also had close interaction with Islamic Banking and continues to educate herself in the field; though her real areas of interest are Education, Social Psychology and Linguistics. Ustadhah M. Durrani is also a home maker and a mother of two.

Ustadhah A. Junaid (Lahore)

Ustadhah A. Junaid was born and raised in Muscat and then went on to pursue higher studies in Lahore. She received her BBA in the field of Finance with honors from Lahore school of Economics. She began her pursuit of Classical Islamic Learning at Zaynab Academy studying Quran, Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al Fiqh and Arabic under traditional scholars, and completed her Dars-e-Nizami course in 2012. She also delivers talk on purification of the heart and drawing closer to Allah swt at various places in Lahore and Muscat.

Ustadhah Z. Rashid (Lahore)

Ustadhah Z. Rashid is a student of the honourable Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed and his respected wife. She graduated from LUMS on the Dean's Honour List with a Bsc Hons degree in Economics. While at LUMS, she also undertook courses pertaining to Islamic History & Intellectual Tradition and Oriental Languages such as Persian. In pursuing her religious studies, she completed the Dars e Nizami course studying Quran, Hadith, Islamic Law, Jurisprudence, Beliefs, Arabic Language & Literature from accomplished academics such as Maulana Saifur Rehman Qasim, a senior student of Allama Sarfaraz Khan Safdar (ra) and Mufti Mushahid, a student of Justice Mufti Taqi Usmani.

For the past five years, she has consistently remained in the blessed company of Shaykh Kamaluddin and his wife, learning from their advice and counsel and helping them in the administration of Zaynab Academy Lahore as well as the online institute established under their auspices. She has taught various courses including Quran, Hadith, Islamic Law and Arabic for over 3 years to younger and older women alike. In 2013, She conducted a Daura of Quran, covering the translation and commentary of the entire Quran. She has also been conducting short courses and self-help workshops focusing on various topics such as Anger Management, Time Management, to help women organize themselves better. Currently, she delivers lectures explaining Quranic verses & Ahadith as well as spiritual talks to help people draw closer to the Deen.

Ustadhah L. Haroon (Lahore)

Ustadhah L. Haroon,  was raised in Lahore and received her BBA degree with Honors in Finance from FAST. She began her pursuit of Classical Islamic Learning at Zaynab Academy Lahore studying Qur’an, Hadith, Arabic grammar, Islamic Law and Legal Theory under traditional scholars and went on to complete her four year Dars-e-Nizami course in 2013.She is also being guided By Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed on the path of Tazkiyyah (spiritual purification). For the past few years, she has been teaching Quran, Hadith, and Arabic grammar to university students and young professional women. Ustadhah L. Haroon has a special interest in Arabic Grammar. She also delivers talks on purification of the heart and drawing closer to Allah swt. Ustadha is currently Coordinator of the Lahore (Gulberg Branch) Evening Programs.

Ustadhah S. Iftikhar (Lahore)

Ustadhah S. Iftikhar was raised in the U.A.E. She went to the National College of Arts in Lahore, and graduated with an Honors as an Architect in 2008. Thereafter, she worked in NCA as teaching associate for some time. Alongside she pursued her education and enrolled for CIL at Zaynab Academy, studying Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under traditional scholars for four years, completing the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum and graduating with the Alimiyyah Degree in 2013. Currently, she has been involved in teaching and dawah activities amongst the younger crowd in Lahore, where she has taught Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh and Lifestyle Workshops to university and CIL students in Lahore.  She is also being guided By Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed on the path of Tazkiyyah (spiritual purification).

Ustadha Umm-e-Hafsa

Ustadhah Umm-e-Hafsa is a senior student of Shaykh Mufti Kamaluddin Ahmed and Alimah Sobia Ahmed. She was  born and raised in Lahore and as a child, memorized the Qur’an. Along with her university education (in Pharmacy), she began her pursuit of classical Islamic learning (CIL) at Zaynab Academy studying Quran, Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Arabic under traditional scholars, completing her Dars e Nizami Course in 2012. Since then she has been teaching Quran, Hadith and Arabic Grammar to students of CIL. Moreover she has also conducted workshops on different topics of Fiqh as well as delivered talks on Islah-e-nafs and tazkiyah (purification of the heart).
