Online: Classical Islamic Learning – Bilingual 2013-14
Course design and aim:
CIL is a 5 year alimah course designed to introduce women to the classical methodology of Islamic knowledge and scholarship through a modern educational approach.
The philosophy of the CIL course is distinct in its embrace of the entire academic tradition of the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’a with respect for all scholars of Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, and Usul al-fiqh. Moreover, the CIL highlights the importance of spiritual purification (tazkiyah) and inner reform (islah).
CIL Subjects include Quran, Hadith, Islamic law (fiqh), Islamic scholarly tradition, Tajweed, Arabic grammar and language.
Also included in the couse: Learning Management System to facilitate online learning, monthly circles, interactive student discussion forums, course recordings, an e-classroom equipped with an interactive whiteboard, live student-teacher chat and more.
Schedule:
Classes will meet Monday-Thursday 5:00-8:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time). A detailed academic calendar will be shared in the introductory session.
Who should consider:
+ Students residing in Pakistan who cannot join our regular onsite classes because of time or transport or if Zaynab Academy does not offer courses in your city/area.
+ Students who understand and read English and Urdu.

Last date to register: Sept. 21, 2013, 9:00 PM PST Convert to your time zone
Introductory session* Sept. 23, 2013, 7:00 – 8:00 PM PST Convert to your time zone
Classes begin: Sept. 24, 2013
*Introductory session will welcome you on board, introduce you to LMS, go through the course information booklet (will be made available for download after registration), course schedule, academic calendar, and address any questions you may have. You can also consider it a demo class which will let you experience an online learning environment. It will help you estimate any changes you may need to make in your current internet setup and speed.

There is no fee for the course. Students can buy books them-self or book an order with ZA. Ebooks of most but not all will be available. If you are in Pakistan, you should study from book(hard copy).
The class timings for the online CIL are mentioned as 5-8pm which converted in US times is from 4-7Am.
I am very much interested in this class, but there is clash with office and school timings in the morning, kindly reconsider the class timing and let me know ASAP if there is a flexibility so that students from outside Pakistan can also avail this learning opportunity,InshaAllah.

It would be very helpful if you could give us a date by which we should expect to receive confirmations for the online bilingual CIL registration. I applied more than a week ago and haven’t heard anything. Just wondering if something went wrong and I should fill in the registration form again?

I live in Canada and have registered for the course. I have the same problem as umme ahmed i.e. the timings do not suit me. Kindly consider providing recordings for the course if the course timings cannot be changed.

For genuine reasons, recording access can be provided but student has to complete their listening assignment within a given time period

What exactly does bilingual means? Are books in Urdu or lectures in Urdu?
Can i transfer from online English CIL to this program ? As timings really suits me,5-8pm Pak time.

Bilingual means lecture mode can be a mix of Urdu and English. Exams however, will be in urdu only.
Please register for the program asap and inform ZAO about your decision, if you are planning to shift to bilingual program.

Exams are online but annual exams can be onsite. There will be some internal term exams or a Trimester system before the Finals. Books are available in English and Urdu both. Students will be tested in urdu language only.
There is a possibility that time-slot might change but not a significant change.
